# Hello!
#### My name is Wyatt,
I'm a Senior UX Designer at IBM Cloud, and I've spent my career designing in the place most designers try to *avoid*: genuinely complex, technically dense enterprise products.
My take is that *complexity usually deserves clarity, not simplification*. The people I design for are backup administrators, solution architects, and infrastructure teams managing workloads across highly regulated industries. They need depth and control. **My job is to give that depth the right structure (the right hierarchy, the right defaults, the right scaffolding) so expert and novice users can move fast and nobody gets lost.**
What I'm most proud of professionally is when design changes _what gets built_, not just how it looks. That kind of influence rarely comes from the Figma file alone. It comes from first-hand research that surfaces the right problems, facilitation that gets the right people in the room, and advocacy that makes user evidence impossible to ignore. I've been able to do just that with [[Backup and Recovery]].
---
I studied User Experience Design at SCAD with a minor in Graphic Design. I'm looking for senior IC roles where design is expected to sit close to the strategy layer.
**In my free time, you can find me:**
- Dreaming of my next Small-form factor PC build or LEGO set.
- Improving my lap times in my Custom [[Sim Racing]] rig.
- Watching or attending [[Motorsport]] races, like Formula 1.
- Spending quality time with my Wife and Dog.
- Cooking a new dish or perfecting my [[Homemade Texas Brisket]].
- Trying new food, or adding to my 30+ list of the top BBQ Briskets I've tried.
- Jotting down [[Design]] ideas for my next sticker or poster.
- Collecting new vinyl records
- Relaxing on the lake and doing some fishing.
- *And last but not least: wondering if I have too many hobbies.*
